PREGNANCY NOW INCLUDED IN CIP COVER

After discussions with insurers, the Fund has negotiated that for injuries and illnesses from 1 August 2024 the exclusion relating to Pregnancy, Childbirth or Miscarriage or any complication arising from any of those conditions has  been removed from the CIP Policy.

Another great win for our members. 

From 1 August 2024, weekly benefits now payable for disablements resulting from nay injury or illness arising from Pregnancy, Childbirth or Miscarriage.

  • Waiting period 7 days
  • 26 week benefit period

 

Please note: Construction Income Protection Limited (CIPL) is the administrator of the Accident and Illness Benefits Program and Portable Sick Leave Scheme. The insurance policy is arranged by Windsor Management Insurance Brokers and distributed by CIPL. CIPL does not manage or process claims. All claims are managed and processed by Total Claims Solutions, who has been appointed as claims manager of QBE Insurance (Australia) Limited. CIPL does not give any advice in relation to the insurance policy.

PORTABLE SICK LEAVE CONTINUED TO AGE 75

Date

After discussions with insurers, the Fund has negotiated a further inclusion to the Policy, continuing Portable Sick Leave (PSL) up to age 75.  This continuation will allow members aged between 70 and 75, who have a PSL Balance and are still working (receiving BERT contributions) to access their sick days.  With the increasing number of members working past the age of 70, this is a great win for our members. This inclusion commences from the June 2024 contribution period.  

Portable Sick Leave allows employees that accrue sick leave to bank days that would normally be lost when they leave or change employment. 

  • Bank unused sick leave days on termination
  • Capped to 100 days maximum
  • CIP Termination must be completed online or a form completed by employer
  • Held for 2 years from last contribution
  • Days returned to employer if employee returns to employer within 6 months

CIP Offsite Program now includes Bill Payer.

The member benefit for the Offsite program for injuries / illnesses from 1 January 2024 will now also include Bill Payer. Members on claim will be able to claim up to $250 per agreed bill to a maximum of $5,000 over the duration of a claim.
